Outro – Lenten Season Recap

I can’t believe I can write this ‘Outro’ post for the lenten season. I didn’t know if I could write a post for each day of Lent. The Lord’s direction seemed almost impossible. With all the posts completed, it has been a blessing I could never have expected or imagined.

Each day, especially early on, was a struggle. I wouldn’t even start thinking of post ideas until the evening and then try to cram to get something posted before midnight. The Lord, as He always does when I trust Him, came through each day with something for me to write about.

I’ve been very excited to finally write some of the album recommendations. These were some of my favorite albums of the last 5 to 10 years. Satellite Kite is a classic. Thr3e is not only a classic, but one of the first christian hip hop albums that I’d recommend to even non christian hip hop fans. Evvie McKinney is an artist I’m excited about. Lastly, The White Album was a turning point in what I thought christian music could be. I’ve come across so many good albums for the Lord, and it was great to finally share some of them.

Another part of the lenten posts was being able to share my heart for my family. I have an amazing wife, and to share that was a great moment for us. The touching moment of dancing with my daughter for her grandfather’s 70th birthday was another memorable post. Also, sharing the complexities of parenting has been difficult, but good.

The culmination of this lenten season was Holy Week. I honestly can’t fully put into words just how much the Lord poured into me during this time. I’d never read the Word in such a deep way. Holy Week was truly a family affair as well. While Resurrection Sunday is the culmination of the week and our salvation, The Lord’s Supper is what I’ll remember most this year. The institution of the Lord’s Supper as a family tradition is what will be the long-term legacy of this season.

As I said, I can’t believe I actually made it to this post. It has truly been a blessing. Thank you Jesus for sending me on this journey and leading me every step of the way. Thank you Chantal for being my copy editor and supporter through the process. You stayed up many late nights waiting for me to finish my post so you could edit it before publishing. Your support was priceless. I love you so much! Lastly, thank you to everyone who read the posts and left comments. In particular, my extended family, especially my mom, has been a great support through this journey.

Father, I hope and pray I have honored you in this season and in these posts. All to Your Glory.

Thank you for reading and God bless. Lord willing, I’ll see you soon!
